Advantages of Renting a Condo

Rent is an agreement where a payment is made for the temporary use of a good, service or property according to Wikipedia. Renting a place is way much easier than building a house whereas you don't need to deal with a developer, a property refurbishment company, and others related to real estate development.

Just a few weeks ago, my sister rented a condo in Pasig through Airbnb and it surprised me how easy renting would be as long as you prepare your budget for it. I realized renting a place does have advantages if a person were to rent a place based on my observation. Let me share it with you below:

Advantages of Renting a Place

  1. No Bills. At first, I was like, "What? Really?" Of course, this totally depends on the arrangement of the owner of the place and the one who's going to rent. In my sister's case, she only paid for the condo unit's rent for 3 months and that's it. Everything is inclusive in her rental fee such as water, electricity, maintenance fee, etc., so she doesn't have to worry. I was like, "Wow, so I guess you turn on the air conditioner every day, huh?" She says, "Yes, only when we're there. When we leave the place, of course we have to turn it off."
  2. If something's broke, call the owner. When the phone is not working or when the water doesn't flow properly, the owner fixes it for you. If I remember it correctly in our Obligations and Contracts subject back in college, it is indeed the obligation of the owner to fix anything that's broken in the place. Of course, terms and conditions still apply to this depending on your contract.
  3. Best for short term stays. My sister plans to stay in the area for only a few months for work, so when her work is done, she moves back to our family home. No strings attached.
  4. Convenience. Condo residents are very lucky because most condos already have nearby malls, restaurants or even coffee shops that's just a few blocks away from their unit. Condo units nowadays are also strategically located in business vicinity where you can conveniently go to work in just a few minutes without a fuzz.
  5. Security. I hate to admit it, but my sister's condo has way better security than our village. Aside from the gate that can only be accessed by a card, security guards are everywhere from parking and every entrance/exit of the building including CCTV cameras.  CCTV cameras and security guards are available in most rental units that has a monthly rental fee from P8,000 per month and above. I was able to visit some units that costs P5000 and below, and unfortunately some doesn't have CCTV or they only have one guard available, sometimes there's none.

  6. Nice view. I got to admit that a condo unit situated on a high floor (e.g. 22nd floor), then your view must be spectacular.

  7. Free access to recreational areas. For condo units with swimming pools or other recreational areas such as gyms, tennis courts, etc., you get free access to all of them inclusive of the rental fee. Again, this entirely depends on the terms and conditions of the unit owner and the one renting. In my sister's case, she can use them all for free.

That's all I got for now. If you have something to add or share to the list, please drop your comments below this post.
