Fil-Indian Leader Majinder Kumar Wins Asia Leaders Awards 2021 Philanthropist & CSR Company of the Year for the Second Year in a Row
This is the second year that Mr Kumar is receiving these two commendations from the Asia Leaders Awards, TAG Media Group’s flagship and biggest brand.
Indeed, Mr Kumar and FICWSI’s humanitarian initiatives are many and diverse, benefiting various sectors during the pandemic.
His most remarkable efforts include:
1. Sponsoring a full school year for all children in an orphanage—He not only provided the kids a complete set of homeschooling package with laptops, Internet connection, and tutorials, he also helped renovated the orphanage to improve these children’s living conditions.
2. Donating thousands of PPEs to frontliners and bicycles to workers—He also provided personal protective equipment like face masks and face shields as well as vitamins to health workers along with means of transportation for workers who can’t work due to absence of public transport.
3. Donating sick beds and ambulances for hospitals—He likewise provided hospital beds for health workers downed by the deadly COVID virus as well as much-needed ambulances for cities and towns that lack essential emergency transportation.
4. Sponsoring flight tickets to sick children and their families—He also bought airplane tickets to help need children and families fly back to India to avail of surgical and post-operative care procedures.
5. Partnering with Sts Peter and Paul Parish Makati—He collaborated with a Makati parish to distribute livelihood packages to deserving individuals, which in the process resulted in revitalizing a meat vendor’s business affected by the lockdown and providing a chef who lost his job to open a mobile kitchenette.

FICWSI is a non-profit, non-stock organization composed primarily of Indian nationals and some Filipinos forming a network of business- and socio-civic-minded individuals to help members in business endeavors and promoting business opportunities and collaborations.
It activated its outreach program #filindihelpline under the tagline “Together for a Cause—Together We Help” in 2020, which up to now continues relief and charitable endeavors for those who need it most.
