Plants and Flowers in Our Home

Benefits of Plants

Plants particularly flowers has been a part of any occasions and it has made every occasion beautiful and extra special. Even someone giving you flowers has the power to make you smile or feel good because it makes you feel special and loved.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, people started buying indoor plants for various reasons. I personally bought plants to help me cope from the stress that's going on. Unfortunately, when it comes to flowers, buying flowers isn’t that popular anymore – at least where I’m from due to economic reasons. But I believe there’s nothing wrong with buying a single rose or single flower to someone special to you every once in a while. Flowers do alleviate your mood and makes the place look good.

Here are some benefits of having flowers and plants in your home:

1. They Reduce Stress. I personally agree with this. After coming home from a tiring day, seeing fresh and beautiful flowers on our dining table or anywhere in the house alleviates my mood and somehow brings a smile on my face. It also improves the house’s vibe and ambiance. Notice that hotels would also put big bouquets of flowers in their reception area? And you’d be like, “Whoa! That’s beautiful!” You can also purchase flowers that are prearranged like from PlantShed New York flower delivery so you don't have to stress yourself by decorating or arranging it.

2. Spider plants add moisture to the air. According to WebMD.com, furnaces and air conditioners cansap humidity indoors, especially in the winter. That can raise your chances for catching a cold or the flu, or make your skin itch. Houseplants add moisture to the air. One study found a collection of spider plants boosted the relative humidity in a bedroom from 20% to a more comfortable 30%.

3. Some house plants are good air-scrubbers. Carpets, paint, cleaners, printer toners and inks, and many other indoor objects give off pollutants called volatile organic compounds (VOCs). They can build up in the air and irritate your eyes and skin, worsen your asthma, or make it hard for you to breathe. Houseplants can soak up VOCs. Some good air-scrubbers are English ivy, asparagus fern, and dragon tree.

Plants and flowers are gifts of nature and having them in our home is good for us. Do you agree? Comments/questions are welcome. Just enter them in the comments below.
