Tea Time with Teasenz : A Tea Review

I am not much of a tea person, but I do rely on tea whenever I want drink a relaxing beverage or something to help with my digestion. At first, I was contented with the ready-made teas that can be bought in the supermarket, but I never thought that there's something better. Authentic, farm-fresh tea  is readily available for purchase online and that is through Teasenz!

Since it's the rainy season, it's the perfect time to try out the different flavors of teas that Teasenz have personally picked for me to try.

Each flavor of tea is individually packed in a resealable pack to maintain freshness and for users' convenience.

These are the Teasenz packs

1. Huang Shan Mao Feng

This Mao Feng is grown near Huang Shan (Yellow Mountain), a famous scenic spot in China, home to many famous varieties of Chinese green teas. The misty mountain peaks provide the perfect participation and soil for growing the most spectacular Mao Feng tea in China.

Benefits:
Drinking Huang Shan Mao Feng, (and other Chinese green teas) helps reduce stress, not only because its floral aroma brings significant soothing effects, but also because the theanine, which is a kind of amino acids in green tea, can help relieve stress and anxiety. This is also the tea I drink whenever I have indigestion or upset stomach, and it really works wonders.

2. Lapsang Souchong
It is a black tea originally from the Wuyi region of the Chinese province of Fujian. It is sometimes referred to as smoked tea. Lapsang is distinct from all other types of tea because lapsang leaves are traditionally smoke-dried over pinewood fires, taking on a distinctive smokey flavor.

Tea Pairings: What food goes well with Lapsang Souchong?

Most tea enthusiasts will agree that this tea should be consumed without any snacks or dishes. When you would like to enjoy this tea with some snacks than different kinds of nuts and seeds are the most suitable as they have a fairly neutral taste. If you really would like to pair Lapsang Souchong with a real dish then go for curry and beef dishes. Other tip: avoid sweet dishes.

3.  Dian Hong
Dian Hong  or Dianhong is a type of relatively high-end, gourmet Chinese black tea sometimes used in various tea blends and grown in Yunnan Province, China. The main difference between Dianhong and other Chinese black teas is the amount of fine leaf buds, or "golden tips," present in the dried tea. Dianhong teas produces a brew that is brassy golden orange in colour with a sweet, gentle aroma and no astringency. Cheaper varieties of Dianhong produce a darker brownish brew that can be very bitter.

Benefits:
The combined effects of the caffeine in black tea and aromatic substances, can increase blood flow and improve metabolism to get rid of acid, excessive salt (hypertension), as well as ease of heart disease. The black tea polyphenols in Dian Hong tea have an anti-inflammatory effect. Other health benefits of Diang Hong tea includes anti-caries, anti-aging, lowering blood sugar, balancing/lowering blood pressure, anti-cancer, anti-radiation.

4. Imperial Jasmine

Jasmine tea is tea scented with aroma from jasmine blossoms to make a scented tea. Typically, jasmine tea has green tea as the tea base; however, white tea and black tea are also used. The resulting flavor of jasmine tea is subtly sweet and highly fragrant. It is the most famous scented tea in China.

Whenever I open the Imperial Jasmine pack, I could smell the wonderful Jasmine scent that relaxes my nerves. I also love its slightly sweet flavor that's perfect for afternoon tea paired with wonderful treats. It's safe to say that this is my personal favorite among the teas.

5. Ginseng Oolong

Ginseng oolong (or wulong) is a high quality beauty tea from China. Though many think this tea is a product of modern times, the winning combination of using tea and ginseng was already mentioned in a historical Chinese text dated from 741 BC. It wasn't until around 500 years ago, when Ginseng oolong became a royal drink, served as tribute tea to the emperor. That's why this tea is also called the 'King's tea' or 'Orchid Beauty' (Lan Gui Ren) referring to an emperor's concubine in the Tang Dynasty.

This is the type of tea that invigorates the soul and also helps weight loss. It also has lots of benefits and is  often seen as the number one beauty tea as the rich antioxidant content prevents against heart diseases, detoxifies the body, and improves skin. So after every heavy meal such as buffet or any celebration, this ginseng oolong tea is the perfect ending to your meal.
